RAVENNA
Ravenna is a city unique in the world. City of art, culture and mosaics which, 1,500 years ago, was three times a capital: of the Western Empire, of Theodoric king of the Goths and the Byzantium Empire in Europe. The splendour of this period has left a great heritage of monuments and religious buildings decorated with mosaics which have been designated as world heritage sites by UNESCO. The  magnificent  Basilica of San Vitale , The Mausoleum and the Baptistery  are vestiges of this glorious Time. In Ravenna you can walk past bell towers, through monastic cloisters and see frescoes by Giotto in the Baroque apse of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo. As well as being Roman, Gothic and Byzantine, Ravenna is also medieval, Venetian (Piazza del Popolo)  and also modern, contemporary and rich in internationally renowned events and performances.

CESENA THE CITY OF THE MALATESTA FAMILY
Cesena occupies a vast territory from the foothills of Savio River Valley to the Adriatic Coast and from the first offshoots of the Tuscany-Romagna Apennines down to the plains between Ravenna and Forlì. Cesena is of Umbrian and Etruscan origins and reached its peak under the rule of the Malatesta family (1378-1465). The current aspect of the old town centre dates back to this period as does the Ancient Library  where you will find well-preserved Manuscripts. In the old town centre is located The Fortress one of the most impressive of the region. From there you will see the Adriatic Sea and a wonderful panorama.

At not more than an hour car drive far from Cervia The Republic of San Marino offers itineraries to surprise, inform and entertain. The Republic can satisfy the most widely diverse desires for shopping and entertainment. The historic centre offers limitless opportunities for all sorts of purchases and a  dream trip amid museums, ancient forts and palaces, immersed in a fairy tale world. Here you will find The Museum of Palazzo Pubblico; at first in the neogothic style, this Romanesque building  has been built over the foundations of the original 'Parva Domus Comunis'. Not to miss is the 'changing of the guard' ceremony of  The Uniformed Guards of the Fortress the 'changing of the guard' ceremony performing honour service at the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza della Libertà,  the ceremony takes place every hour on the half hour from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the summer months. Worth visiting is also  The Museo di Stato, this museum holds archaeological and artistic testimony of the history and legend of the Republic of San Marino.
